Bright Lights, Big City

We just spent this past weekend in New York City! We planned a trip to visit Tyler's sister Amy and my girlfriend Stacy from college. (They are NYC roommates) We were able to plan for Tyler's parents and his aunt to be in town for the weekend as well so it was a great way to spend the weekend!
We got in town on Friday night and after meeting everyone we headed out to a bar for tapas and cocktails. We drank champagne and danced all night!
We woke up Saturday morning and Tyler's parents had gotten into town. We headed out in the rain for brunch at the Boathouse in Central Park. Even in the rain the park was beautiful! We took the scenic route even though the restaurant was "just around the corner." We quickly learned that New Yorkers have a very interesting perception of this term!
We had a very relaxing afternoon and got ready for dinner and the theater that night. We had a great Italian dinner in the Theater District and then went to see Blithe Spirit with Broadway diva and Tony Award winner Angela Lansbury and Rupert Everett from My Best Friends Wedding. It was a funny play about a man who is haunted by his 1st wife who has passed away. We stopped on our way from dinner to the show when we passed Restaurant Charlotte!

Saturday night after the play we headed out to a bar where one of Tyler's fraternity brothers works. It was great seeing him and hanging out there for the night!
Sunday was actually rain-less! So we took the subway south and walked around a little in the village.

We also stopped for pictures in Washington Square Park!
Thats us under the arch....really small!

It was GREAT that Tyler's dad got to spend Father's Day weekend with his kids!

We kept walking and stopped to check out the HighLine. It is a train track that has been turned into a park. The views of the city are beautiful and the park is incredible. I think I drove everyone crazy stopping for pictures every 3 minutes!!

After the park we stopped at the Chelsea Market which is where they film all of the Food Network shows. All of the little shops inside were so cute and we had lots of fun with the camera!

We stopped for drinks on a hotel roof and then grabbed lunch before Tyler and I had to go back to the apartment and grab our bags to head to the airport. It was a great trip! We loved everyone we got to meet and had so much fun spending the weekend with Amy, Stacy and Tyler's family!! We are already talking about our next trip to the city...

Baby You're My Better Half

This past Thursday night we got to extend my 25th Birthday celebration! My gift from Tyler was 4 tickets to the Keith Urban/Sugarland concert. We took Brent and Amy who we have now officially celebrated all 4 of our 25th birthdays with. We've had 2 surprise parties, a murder mystery and finally a concert.

We met at Blackfinn downtown for drinks beforehand. My parents came in town for the concert so they were able to join us for a drink as well. We grabbed dinner at the arena because no one wanted to miss Sugarland as the opening act. We certainly were not disappointed - they were incredible!! Jennifer Nettles is such a passionate artist and she was so much fun to watch. Amy and I sang our hearts out :)

After Sugarland finished their performance we anxiously awaited Keith Urban. He started playing and quickly became one of our favorite performers we have seen. He looked like he was having the time of his life from the moment he stepped on to the stage. About a third of the way through his set he walked off the stage and onto the floor filled with people. He walked all the way to the back of the floor seating and hopped onto a stage behind the sound booth that was about 20 yards in front of our seats! What a great treat!! We walked down to the bottom of the stairs in our section and enjoyed our "close up" concert for 3-4 songs. (We thanked Tyler for the tickets for the rest of the night!)

What a great way to wrap up our Birthday season! Keith played multiple encores and we loved every minute and sang every word!! We even made it on the big screen for a few seconds :)

Welcome to our Blog!

After spending a weekend in Charleston with a blogger (Thanks Brooke!), I thought this could be a great way for Tyler and I to keep our family and friends updated on the wonderful things going on in our lives!

To get you caught up...
We had an incredible month of May!
We celebrated our 1st Wedding Anniversary for an entire weekend. We went to the George Strait concert on Friday night and after massages on Saturday, Tyler surprised me with a trip to The Fearrington House!! We got to spend our anniversary where we got married and it was incredible. We had dinner there and spent the evening walking the grounds. There was a wedding that night so we ran into our wedding planner Gilda and John, the man who married us. We woke up Sunday and had our favorite brunch...Fearrington Eggs Benedict :)

ALSO in May we traveled with my family to St. Maarten for 5 days! We spent the week moving from pool to beach and lounge chair to lounge chair. It was incredibly relaxing!

We are also having a fun and busy June!

We spent the first weekend in Greensboro visiting my parent's newest addition...a yellow lab puppy named Sophie. Her and Tess got off to a bit of a rocky start but by the end of the trip they couldn't get enough of eachother and Tess was loving sliding little Sophie across the floor.

This past weekend we traveled to Charleston for Matt and Sarah's wedding. It was so beautiful and we couldn't be happier for our good friends. Tyler was a busy groomsman and I spent the days at the pool with the "wives." It was a great weekend!
That brings us to now and we are heading to NYC this coming weekend to visit Tyler's sister Amy with his family. We can't wait to finally get there!
We would love for you to follow our blog and stay up to date with what is going on in our lives! We are loving married life and are filling everything we do with smiles and laughter. We love and miss you all!
